Soham Comrades

Brass Band

A fun and dynamic Brass Band based in the London and Southern Counties Area.

Soham Band are delighted to be performing in this fabulous show with Viva! Please book tickets NOW as it's bound to be a sellout!

Although a new venture for most of us, a few members of the current band took part in a very successful production of ‘Brassed Off’ at the Arts Theatre in Cambridge in 1999. The show was a Sheffield Theatres production and featured Dennis Lill as Danny, Steve Huison as Phil and Loveday Smith as Gloria. This production was touring Britain at the time and we were very fortunate to have been selected as ‘The Band’ for the Cambridge performance.

We are delighted to be working with the accomplished Viva organisation on this project, which for most of our players will be a completely new and exciting experience.

Based near the Cambridgeshire and Suffolk borders, Soham Comrades Brass Band are a friendly and ambitious second section band who compete in the London and Southern Counties area.

The band reached the Second Section finals in 2014 and recent contest successes have included 2nd placings at the Crawley Entertainment Contest in May 2015 and at the Milton Keynes Contest in November 2015. More recently the band achieved the runner up prize of £1000 at the 2016 Butlins Mineworkers Open National Brass Band Festival held in Skegness. The band were placed 3rd in the 2nd Section LSC regional contest held in Stevenage in March 2016 receiving the Nelson Morris Memorial Cup and maintained this consistency of placings being awarded 4th place in March 2017 with the bass section receiving the Len Smith Memorial Trophy for the best bass section.
